The C.A.R.E. 5K & 10K is a collection of a 10K run course and a 5K run and walk course designed to help promote organ, eye and tissue donation and highlight the success of transplantation. Each year this run and walk draws participants such as transplant candidates, transplant recipients and family members, hospital personnel, donor family members and the general public.
This year’s 5th Annual C.A.R.E. 5K & 10K Run and Walk fo Organ, Eye and Tissue Donation Awareness hits the starting line on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at the Centennial Park in Waukee, Iowa.
Be sure to form a team and invite your family and friends to join hundreds of individuals in one of the fastest growing and most inspiring run and walks in Iowa to spread awareness about the importance of organ, eye and tissue donation by commemorating the lives of organ and tissue donors, celebrating the lives of organ, eye and tissue recipients, and recognizing the lives of those waiting for a lifesaving transplant!
The C.A.R.E. 5K & 10K was first created by Ted Cochran, a kidney transplant recipient and founder of My Angel Foundation.
Last year nearly 750 runners and walkers participated in the 4th Annual C.A.R.E. 5K & 10K Run and Walk!
Whether you run, walk, wheel, volunteer, cheer or make a charitable donation, it’s a great way to support this life-changing cause.
C.A.R.E. is an acronym for Compassion for Awareness, Remembrance, and Education.
